Coaching Legend Bobby Bowden Speaks at Charity Breakfast in Indiana

Inspiring crowds is nothing new for legendary college football head coach Bobby Bowden.  Last Tuesday morning, Bowden was in Fort Wayne, Indiana to speak at the Common Bond Breakfast.

The breakfast benefited Erin’s House for Grieving Children and was hosted at the Parkview Regional Medical Center.  Children who have suffered the death of a loved one have been receiving help from Erin’s House since 1993.

Bowden created a football powerhouse at Florida State and is second on the all-time coaching wins list for Division 1.  The Seminoles won two national titles under his watch and for 14 consecutive seasons they finished the year ranked in the top five.

In 34 years at FSU, Bowden only had one losing season.  Upon joining the Atlantic Coast Conference in 1991, the Noles would go on to win 12 league titles under the guidance of their legendary coach.

Bowden’s legacy has extended far off the field where he now thrives as an author, motivational speaker, and college football ambassador.  He also actively looks to support various charities and faith-based groups.

Perhaps his greatest contribution to the world has been his six children and 21 grandchildren.  Two of his sons have gone on to be college head coaches and another son was Bowden’s offensive coordinator for a period of time at FSU.
