College Basketball Analyst Jay Bilas Holds Discussion at Butler CCOM Symposium

This week, Butler Universrity brought one of the most thoughtful sports commentators to their College of Communications Symposium.  ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas spoke on Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. at the Atherton Union's Reilly Room on campus.  

Bilas talked about his role in the sports media and also took questions from the max capacity audience.  The event ran from February 29-March 3 and was put on by The Conference on Ethics and Public Argumentation. 

Tickets for all the presentations were free, but seating was limited.  With Butler being located in Indianapolis, site of NCAA headquarters, Bilas was uniquely qualified to speak.

Bilas originally joined ESPN in 1995 and is currently one of their lead college basketball analysts.  He is on the network's Saturday primtime game-of-the-week while also serving as an analyst on College Gameday.

Since 2003, Bilas has been apart of ESPN's NBA Draft coverage as well.  He opines on an array of topics for other shows on the network and for ESPN.com.

Bilas was nominated for an Emmy in 2008 in the Oustanding Studio Personality category.  Prior to getting into broadcasting, he was a four-year player and assistant coach at Duke University.
