Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon has parlayed his unforgettable performance in the Slam Dunk Contest into greater exposure off the court and more consistent performance on it. He has certainly built a larger fanbase among the Magic faithful as well.
Today, Gordon is headlining an event at an Orlando-area Chase Bank. From 4:30-6:00 p.m., Gordon will be joined by fellow second-year player Elfrid Payton and rookie Mario Hezonja at the Chase branch at 5403 Deep Lake Road.
Fans will get a chance to meet the Magic players and get autographs. The team DJ, dancers, and Blue Crew will also be on site entertaining and handing out giveaways.
Gordon waged a dunk contest for the ages in Toronto with Zach LaVine. He pushed LaVine through two tie-breaker overtime dunks before ultimately finishign as runner-up in the contest.
Since the All-Star break, Gordon has turned out some memorable performances, including a career-high 22 points in a win against the Philadelphia 76ers. He has averaged 13.4 points a game and posted six double-digit rebound games since returning from Toronto.
Gordon is still building confidence after playing only 47 games during his rookie year due to injury. The Magic selected him fourth overall in the 2014 NBA Draft after being Pac-12 Freshman of the Year at Arizona.
