ESPN Analyst Jay Williams Speaks at Norfolk State Tip-Off Dinner Next Week

Norfolk State has an exciting weekend of activities planned to kick off the basketball season next weekend. One of those events is the tip-off dinner, which will feature ESPN analyst and former All-American Jay Williams.

That event takes place on October 13th at 8 p.m. at the Chesapeake Conference Center. Individual tickets are $75 and VIP tickets are also available.

Ticket sales for the fifth annual dinner will run through October 11th. They will also have a comedy show and Spartan Madness during the weekend.

Williams was named Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year as a freshman at Duke University. He was a consensus All-American and first-team All-ACC pick the following two seasons.

As a sophomore, Williams set a Duke single-season record for points scored and helped lead the Blue Devils to the NCAA title. He followed that up by winning national player of the year honors in his final year on campus.

The Chicago Bulls selected Williams with the second overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, but he played just one season due to a devastating motorcycle accident. He has worked for ESPN since 2008.
