While Danny Kanell is better known now as a top radio and television personality at ESPN, he was once a star quarterback at Florida State University. On Thursday, he returned to campus as a featured speaker at the 2015 Real Estate TRENDS Conference.
It is fitting that Kanell's appearance this week falls in line with FSU homecoming. He spoke to the crowd assembled in the Champions Club at Doak Campbell Stadium and was able to answer several audience questions.
The conference, now in its 22nd year, has a soldout attendance of 600. It is put on by the FSU Real Estate Center that is a part of the College of Business.
Kanell can be heard daily on the ESPN Radio show "Russillo & Kanell", which also simulcasts on television on ESPNews. He is also a top college football analyst that is seen across the network's various platforms.
Kanell originally joined ESPN in 2012 after working in local television and radio in Miami, Florida. Prior to getting into broadcasting, he spent seven seasons in the NFL.
For the Seminoles, Kanell was a two-year starter at quarterback and set a then school record with 47 career touchdown passes. He is a member of the Florida State Hall of Fame and Broward County Sports Hall of Fame.
