ESPN Writer Kate Fagan Speaks at I Am Oz Diversity Speaker Series Next Tuesday

ESPN writer Kate Fagan is known for telling stories about diversity, but she also has her own story to tell as well. She will talk about her experience coming out as a gay athlete at the SUNY Oswego I Am Oz Diversity Speaker Series. 

The event takes place at 6:30 p.m. on October 10th in Sheldon Hill Ballroom. Fagan's discussion is free and open to the public. 

In addition to speaking, Fagan will also answer questions from the audience and participate in a book signing. The series is put on by SUNY Oswego's Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. 

Fagan has been with ESPN since 2012 and works as a columnist and reporter for espnW. She contributes on the television side as well on programs like Around the Horn, The Sports Reporters and First Take

Fagan is the author of the memoir, The Reappearing Act: Coming Out on a College Team Led by Born Again Christians. She is also the author of the bestseller, What Made Maddy Run: The Secret Struggles and Tragic Death of an All-American Team

Fagan previously covered the Philadelphia 76ers for the Philadelphia Inquirer for three years. She has held positions at The Glen Falls Post-Star and The Ellensburg Daily Record.
