When Walter Bond’s basketball career ended, he crafted a powerful message and saw his speaking platform explode over two decades.  Bond’s hard work was recognized recently with induction into the Council of Peers Award for Excellence Speaker Hall of Fame.

The National Speakers Association has handed out the lifetime achievement award to 232 individuals.   Two weeks ago, The Speaker Experts also announced Bond as one of the top ten most booked corporate speakers in the U.S. 

His speeches focus on peak performance and hit on five key business principles.  Bond has spoken to hundreds of groups, including many Fortune 500 companies. 

A wildly successful speaking career is no surprise when one reviews the rest of Bond’s life.  After being a college reserve at the University of Minnesota, he was able to defy the odds and carve out an eight-year professional basketball career. 

Bond was not drafted in the NBA, but still played in parts of three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz, and Detroit Pistons.  He also played for teams in the CBA, Germany, and Italy.
