The Gulf Coast Athletic Club has a full list of speakers line up this fall.  There first meeting was this week with special guest and former college football head coach Bill Curry.

On November 7th, former Heisman Trophy winner Charlie Ward will speak to the club.  Each of their meetings are held in Gulf Shores, Alabama at the Craft Farms clubhouse. 

Each GCAC meeting begins at 6 p.m. with social time.  Annual memberships cost $200 and individual admission to an event is $30.  

Ward was a two-year starter at Florida State and the 1993 Heisman winner.  That year he swept most of the major awards on the way to leading the Seminoles to their first national championship. 

Ward also played basketball at FSU and still holds the school's all-time steals record.  After being a first round pick in the 1994 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks, he would go on to a pro career in basketball.

Ward played the large majority of his 11-year career with the Knicks.  He was a key reserve and helped the franchise reach the 1999 NBA Finals.
