The Dubai International Sports Conference is hosting some of the world's top soccer leaders. One of those individuals who is serving as the keynote speaker is FIFA President Gianni Infantino. 

The event is being held December 27-28 at Madinat Jumeirah. The theme of the 12th annual conference is "Modern Investment in International Football." 

Many speakers from a variety of backgrounds will discuss the future of the sport. The Dubai Globe Soccer Awards will also take place on Thursday. 

Infantino has been the president of FIFA for a year and is spearheading the preparations surrounding the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. He previously worked for UEFA since 2000. 

Infantino's highest role at UEFA was secretary general. He was vital in introducing Financial Fair Play, expanding the UEFA European Championship to 24 teams and increasing commercial support to smaller national associations. 

Infantino began his sports career as the secretary general of the University of Neuchatel's International Center for Sports Studies. He studied law at the University of Fribourg.
