A prominent name in baseball history is returning to his alma mater, BYU, for their “First Pitch” fundraising dinner. 1991 World Series MVP Jack Morris will be the keynote speaker for the Cougars baseball event on January 8th.
Morris will speak to the crowd inside the NuSkin Ballroom. The dinner starts at 7 p.m. and also features a silent auction.

Morris had more wins than any other pitcher during the 1980s. He had a distinguished 18-year career, with the majority of it spent with the Detroit Tigers.
In addition to his dominant 1991 championship performance, Morris played on three other World Series winners. He was also a five-time All-Star and led baseball in wins twice.
Overall, Morris was 254-186 with a 3.90 ERA and 2,478 strikeouts. In recent years, he has gotten back affiliate with the game as a broadcaster for some of his old franchises.
Morris spent the 2013 campaign as an analyst on Toronto Blue Jays games for Sportsnet. After spending 2014 with the Minnesota Twins TV team, he spent 2015 as an analyst for the Tigers on FOX Sports Detroit.
