Five-Time NHL All-Star Dennis Hull Speaks at Sportsman’s Dinner

Last month, five-time NHL All-Star Dennis Hull was able to tell stories about his great career and storied hockey family.  He was the keynote speaker at the Virden & Area 6th Annual Sportsman's Dinner on October 1st.

The event was held at Tundra Gas & Oil Place in Virden, Manitoba.  They raised money for the Virden Curling Club, Virden Minor Ball and Virden Minor Hockey.

One time Canadian Football League stary Henry "Gizmo" Williams also spoke.  In addition to sharing Hull family hockey stories, he also talked about the legendary Summit Series that he took part in as a player.

Hull's brother Bobby and nephew Brett are both Hockey Hall of Famers.  He himself played 14 seasons in the NHL, scoring 654 points.

Hull spent all but one year of his career with the Chicago Blackhawks.  In 1973, he recorded a career-high 90 points and the Blackhawks made it to the Stanley Cup Final.

In retirement, Hull taught at Ridley College and served as athletic director at Illinois Institute of Technology.  He has written an autobiography titled, "The Third Best Hull."
