As an icon of football in the South, former quarterback Archie Manning will be well-received at his next speaking engagement. He is speaking Little Rock Touchdown Club annual awards banquet.
The event takes place on January 19th with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the banquet starting at 7 p.m. It will be held at the Embassy Suites, where each regularly scheduled Monday meeting is.
Tickets cost $50. In addition to Manning's presentation, the Cliff Harris Award winner will be honored.
Manning broke onto the national radar at the University of Mississippi. In 1969, he was the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and a first-team All-American.
The New Orleans Saints selected Manning second overall in the 1971 NFL Draft. He was a two-time Pro Bowler and the NFC Offensive Player of the Year in 1978.
Manning has his #18 jersey retired at Ole Miss and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. He remains a great ambassador for football and his sons Peyton and Eli have both become Super Bowl champion quarterbacks.
