Former Baseball Star George Foster Keynotes Amsterdam Mohawks Dinner in February

Many not old enough to remember might not realize how much George Foster accomplished in his baseball career. He will be able to share stories as the keynote speaker at the Amsterdam Mohawks/Amsterdam Baseball Hall of Fame Induction and Hot Stove Dinner.

The event will be held on February 3rd at St. Mary's Institute. Tickets will go on sale soon and Hall of Fame inductees for the Class of 2018 will be announced next month.

Several baseball dignitaries like Tommy John, Dwight Gooden and Bobby Valentine have addressed the group over the years. Foster is perhaps their post-decorated guest to date.

Foster was an outfielder for four different teams from 1969-1986. He made his greatest impact in the 1970s while playing with the Cincinnati Reds.

Foster led the National League in home runs twice and RBI three times during the decade. He helped Reds' teams win the World Series in 1975 and 1977.

Foster was the NL MVP in 1977 and a five-time All-Star. He is a member of the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
