Ohio State fans in Knox County get a special treat on October 20th.  Former Buckeyes standout Matt Finkes will be the featured speaker at the Alumni Club’s Buckeye Spirit Event at the Ohio Eastern Star Glenn A. Gallagher Center. 

Finkes will be introduced by sports radio personality Dave Bevington.  The OSU Marching Band and Buckeyeman will also make appearances. 

The event that includes a tailgate meal begins with a social hour at 4:30 and Finkes will go on around 6:00.  Tickets go on sale for $30 per person from October 1-9 at Mohican Sports Medicine. 

Finkes was an All-Big 10 and All-American performer at OSU from 1993-96.  He also had a five-year pro football career after being selected in the sixth round of the 1997 draft. 

In retirement, Finkes has gone on to a successful business career in the Columbus community.  He is currently director of development at Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center

Finkes also dabbles in broadcasting.  He is a studio analyst for the local ABC affiliate and previously co-hosted a daily sports talk radio show.
