One of the most successful coaches in modern college football history is speaking next month to the Gulf Coast Athletic Club.  Jackie Sherrill is scheduled to speak at the meeting on October 24th.  

The club holds each event at the Craft Farms clubhouse in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  They begin with a social time at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30. 

Annual memberships for the GCAC cost $200.  Individuals may attend particular events for a one-time admission fee of $30. 

Sherrill last served as a head coach with Mississippi State.  From 1991-2003, he won one Southeastern Conference Western Division title and a school-record 75 wins. 

At Texas A&M, Sherill won three consecutive Southwest Conference titles from 1985-87.  Despite spending just five seasons at Pittsburgh, he is arguably the greatest coach in program history. 

Sherrill guided the Panthers to three straight 11-1 seasons and majorj bowl victories.  His head coaching career started in 1978 at Washington State.
