This past Thursday, the Fresh Produce & Floral Council held a lunch meeting with a special guest from the world of sports. Former Dallas Cowboys tight end Doug Cosbie was the special guest speaker at the event.
Around 200 people came to the Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton, California for the meeting. Cosbie shared some of the life lessons he has learned from sports.
The Fresh Produce & Floral Council has been around since 1965. They promote opportunities for those in both industries in California.
Cosbie played his entire 10-year career with the Dallas Cowboys. He made three straight Pro Bowls from 1983-1985.
The Cowboys originally drafted him in the third round of the 1979 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Santa Clara University and is a member of the school's Athletic Hall of Fame.
After his playing career, Cosbie went into a career as a coaching and entertainment. Most recently, he was a high school head coach in Hawaii.
