Charlie Ward is one of the most revered athletes in Florida State history. He made a return to Tallahassee on Saturday to host an All-Pro Dad event.
The event was held at the Albert J. Dunlap Athletic Training Facility on campus. Fathers were able to connect with their kids by participating in a series of activities.
Ward took pictures with those who attended. He held a book signing for his biography later that day at the Florida State Bookstore and took part in an autograph signing Sunday at the Tucker Civic Center.
In 1993, Ward captured almost every major national college football award including the Heisman Trophy. He also led the Seminoles to their first National Championship.
Ward was a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference Athlete of the Year. He also starred on the basketball court at FSU and still holds the program's career steals record.
The New York Knicks went on to select Ward in the first round of the 1994 NBA Draft. He played ten seasons for the Knicks before finishing his pro career with the Houston Rockets in 2005.
