One of the most fitting deals in the history of the endorsement game was agreed to last week.  Perry Ellis may be trying to build his future in basketball, but he already has the backing of the clothing brand he shares a name with. 

The irony was fortunately not lost on either Perry Ellis.  Ellis announced the deal on his Instagram account.  

Perry Ellis also released a statement talking about their excitement surrounding the "playful partnership".  The added exposure can certainly only help Ellis as he begins his journey through pro basketball.

Ellis played four seasons at Kansas.  He was a two-time first-team All-Big 12 selection and a consensus second-team All-American as a senior.

In 2016, Ellis averaged 16.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.  The Wichita native was one of the top prep prospects to ever emerge from the state, winning four state titles and being named Kansas Player of the Year four times.  

While Ellis was not selected in the 2016 NBA Draft, there is hope for his future in the league.  He was signed by the Dallas Mavericks and will compete in the upcoming NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
