Former MLB All-Star John Kruk Keynotes Benefit for Children’s Home of Reading Friday

Former MLB All-Star John Kruk is still a popular personality in the baseball world for his television commentary. He is also beloved by fans in the Philadelphia area for his longtime connection to the Phillies. 

This Friday, Kruk is sure to see plenty of supporters as he keynotes a benefit for the Children's Home of Reading. It is being held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Reading Hotel. 

The event is being hosted by the Law Foundation of Berks County and the Reading Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Individual seats cost $125 and a table of ten was $1,250. 

Kruk had a ten-year big league career, but experienced the most success during his tenure with the Phillies from 1989-1994. In that span, he was a three-time All-Star. 

Kruk was a member of the Philadelphia team that made it to the 1993 World Series. Overall, he finished with a .300 batting average and 100 career home runs. 

In 2011, Kruk was inducted into the Philadelphia Baseball Wall of Fame. Since 2004, he has worked for ESPN, serving as a game analyst and panelist on "Baseball Tonight."
