Former New Orleans Saints Player Chris Reis Speaks at FCA Liberty Bowl Breakfast in December

Former New Orleans Saints player Chris Reis has been an inspiration on and off the football field. He will share some of his story as the guest speaker at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes/AutoZone Liberty Bowl breakfast.

The event will be held at 7:15 a.m. on December 27th at the Hilton Memphis. It will precede the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, which will be held on December 30th and feature teams from the Big 12 Conference and Southeastern Conference.

Individual tickets to attend the breakfast are $85 and tables of ten are $800. The event and game have been well-supported in years past by the rabid football fanbase in Memphis.

Reis was a special teams ace for the Saints. The seminal moment of his career came when he recovered an onside kick to start the second half of Super Bowl XLIV and New Orleans went on to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17.

NFL.com named the Reis recovery one of the top ten Super Bowl plays of all-time. He played for the Saints until retiring following the 2010 season.

Reis collaborated with his father to write the book, Recovery of a Lifetime: The Inspirational Journey of a Super Bowl Hero Son and His Father's Battle Against Multiple Addictions. He is currently a youth pastor at Our Savior's Church in Lafayette, Louisiana.
