Former NFL Center Jason Brown Speaks at National FFA Convention

Former NFL center Jason Brown has proven that there is more to life than football.  He was able to share his story and some inspirational words as a speaker at the National FFA Conference last week.

The conference was held in Indianapolis, Indiana October 19-22.  There were over 60,000 FFA members along with their parents and guests that attended.

They were able to gather and celebrate various achievements from the past year while listening to words that motivated them to do even more in the coming year.  Brown delivered some of those as the fourth general convention session speaker.

Brown played seven professional seasons for the Baltimore Ravens and St. Louis Rams.  He started 87 games in his career after becoming the Ravens full-time center prior to his third season in 2007.

Brown also had success on the college level at North Carolina, where he was a first-team All-ACC performer in 2004.  Despite the achievements he racked up on the gridiron, he chose to walk away from the sport at the age of 29 in 2012.

In retirement, Brown has become a successful farmer in North Carolina.  He runs the 1,000-acre First Fruits Farm that donates much of what they produce to local food pantries.
