Former NFL Linebacker Matt Millen Named Speaker at Scholar-Athlete Dinner

Former NFL player and executive Matt Millen cut his football teeth in the state of Pennslyvania.  Millen will be back in his home state on March 6th, speaking at the 56th annual National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Lehigh Valley Chapter Scholar-Athlete Dinner.

The dinner will be held at the Northampton Community Center starting at 4:30 p.m.  Tickets for the night cost $30.

In addition to Millen's presentation, athletes and teams from the area will be honored.  The final item of business that night is the awarding of the Lehigh Valley Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.

Millen played at Whitehall High School and at Penn State University.  He was a All-American defensive tackle for the Nittany Lions.

Following his banner collegiate career, Millen would go on to play 12 NFL seasons.  He won four Super Bowls with three different franchises and was a two-time All-Pro selection.

Millen has stayed around the game in retirement.  He was president and CEO of the Detroit Lions for seven seasons and currently serves as an analyst for Fox Sports and the Big Ten Network.
