Former NFL player Tim Green has found an important post-football mission. Green is actively encouraging reading through the NFL’s Play60/Read20 initiative.
This month, he spoke to students at Elizabeth Davis Middle School in Virginia. He also discussed his new book, “Kid Owner”.
Following the presentation, Green did a book signing in the library. He donated the fee from this speaking engagement and any others he does to help underprivileged children purchase books.
Green has written over 30 novels and landed on the New York Times best-seller list for “Football Genius”. In addition to his work with the NFL, he is also on the National Writer’s Project Writing Council.
Green played eight NFL seasons for the Atlanta Falcons after being a first round pick of the franchise in 1986. He accumulated 24 sacks in his career as a defensive end.
In addition to his successful writing endeavors, Green has also been an attorney in his post-NFL life. He co-founded Team Green Lawyers in 2014 that consists of former prosecutors offering private criminal defense services.
