Brian Griese had his best success in the NFL as a quarterback for the Denver Broncos. He will be in town next Tuesday at the keynote speaker for the 42nd Annual Boy Scouts of America, Denver Area Council Sports Breakfast.
The event serves as the Council's largest of the year and it runs 7-9 a.m. at Pepsi Center. Proceeds benefit the area programs that nearly 32,000 young people take part in.
Griese will praise the good work done by the Boy Scouts. He will also share some lessons he learned during his playing career.
Griese won the 1997 national championship and was a first-team All-Big Ten performer at Michigan before joining the Broncos. In his first year, he served as John Elway's backup as the team went on to win Super Bowl XXXIII.
Griese became a starter the following season and was named a Pro Bowler in 2000. He also went on to play for the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears.
Griese retired in 2008 and has become a top college football commentator for ESPN. His father is Hall of Fame quarterback and former broadcaster, Bob Griese.
