Through several stages of life, Hall of Fame wide receiver Steve Largent has been a success. Largent plans to share that story of achievement Thursday night at an event benefiting the Rogers County Training Center in Oklahoma.
He is the keynote speaker at the 19th Hole Dinner and Auction. In addition to other items, several sports memorabilia items will be auctioned off including a Largent signed jersey.
The RCTC has been around for 46 years and has several different work experience programs that get people on their feet.
Largent was a seven-time Pro Bowler and played 14 NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He was the first player to ever have his jersey retired by the Seahawks and held many major league receiving records upon his retirement.
With his football career behind him, Largent went on to success in many other areas. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native served seven years in the U.S. House of Representatives.
From 2003-2014, Largent was the CEO and President of CTIA-The Wireless Association. He has also been the Mid-West Chapter Executive Director of The Wheelchair Foundation and ran his own marketing consulting firm upon retirement from the NFL.
Largent’s diverse public life can certainly inspire others. The 19th Hole Dinner attendees are bound to hear some of his more interesting stories from sports, business, and politics.
