Most people know former Olympian Nancy Kerrigan for her exploits on the ice. She also has had a very personal tragedy in her life suffering multiple miscarriages.
Kerrigan was able to share stories about her experience and provide encouragement as the keynote speaker at the RESOLVE New England Conference. The organization has been helping families in the region for nearly a quarter century.
The event was held in Newton, Massachusetts. Kerrigan talked about turning to vitro fertilization after suffering the miscarriages following the birth of her first child, Matthew.
Kerrigan competed at two Olympics, winning a bronze medal in ladies' singles in 1992 and a silver in 1994. She was the 1993 United States Champion.
Kerrigan also won two medals at the World Championships. She is perhaps best known for overcoming the unusual 1994 attack that was planned against her by associates of fellow competitor Tonya Harding.
After her competitive career ended, Kerrigan went on to skate professionally in several ice shows. This year, she competed on season 24 of Dancing with the Stars.
