Former Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker Joey Porter Speaks at Community Dinner

Former player and current coach Joey Porter is beloved among Pittsburgh Steelers faithful. He will certainly be well-received when he comes to speak n Altoona, Pennsylvania this February. 

Porter is scheduled to present at The Central Blair Recreation & Park Commission Community Classic Dinner. It will be held on February 25th Bavarian Hall. 

Porter is expected to deliver a light-hearted speech about the various ups and downs of his NFL career. The commission will also give out their Respected Citizen Award at the event. 

For 13 seasons, Porter terrorized NFL offenses. He was a four-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro pick. 

Porter spent eight years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and won a Super Bowl with the team in 2005. He led the AFC in sacks in 2008 and was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2000s. 

After retiring from football in 2012, Porter entered the coaching ranks as a defensive assistant at Colorado State. He worked in that capacity for the Steelers in 2014 before becoming the team's outside linebackers coach.
