Former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette remains a popular speaker in the community. This morning, he keynoted the Combined Fund Drive Leadership Breakfast.
The event was held at the Hotel RL in Olympia in front of a sold-out crowd. Festivities began at 8 a.m. in the Forest Ballroom.
The CFD is the state of Washington's fundraising arm for current and retired state employees. In addition to Lockette, there were two speakers who represented groups that receive CFD donations.
After being undrafted in 2011, Lockette was signed by the Seahawks in 2011. While he bounced around in training camps and practice squads with a few other teams, he found a permanent NFL home back in Seattle in 2013.
Lockette was a wide receiver and special teams ace for three seasons for the Seahawks. He played on two teams that made the Super Bowl and won Super Bowl XLVIII.
In 2015, Lockette suffered a career-ending neck injury. He has since been a motivational speaker.
