On Saturday, Texas Rangers legend Ivan Rodriguez is hosting a baseball camp for enthusiastic players in the Fort Worth area. The "Pudge Presents Pitchers & Catchers Camp" runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Game On Fort Worth.
The morning sessions is available to players ages 11-17. There are only 100 spots available and registration is $299.
There is certainly not many better opportunities to learn baseball skills. Rodriguez is regarded as one of the greatest catchers of all-time and was a master at dealing with pitching staffs.
For the first 12 years of his career, Rodriguez became one of the Rangers iconic players. He was named to the American League All-Star team for his first 11 seasons and and made 14 squads overall.
On 13 occasions, Rodriguez won a Gold Glove Award for his play behind the plate. He holds the record for the most games played at catcher and threw out a higher percentage of basestealers than anyone during his career.
Rodriguez was able to win a World Series with the Florida Marlins in 2003 and was AL MVP while still with Texas in 1999. He is a member of the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame and is eligible for induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame for the first time next year.
