Former Two-Sport Star Brian Jordan Speaks at United Way of Central Georgia Meeting

Last Thursday, one of the more vesatile athletes in recent sports history spoke at the annual meeting for the United Way of Central Georgia.  Former two-sport star Brian Jordan has great roots in the state and spoke to the assembled crowd. 

Jordan discussed his dreams of playing multiple sports professionally and how he achieved those goals.  There were 385 people in attendance on the campus of Mercer University at Hawkins Arena. 

The chapter announced their $5.1 million fundraising goal for next year.  There were several other speakers as well in additiont to Jordan. 

Jordan reached the NFL and the MLB, playing three seasons of pro football with the Atlanta Falcons.  He had a much lengthier baseball career, playing for four teams over 15 seasons. 

The first seven seasons of Jordan's baseball career was spent with the St. Louis Cardinals.  In 1999, he made the National League All-Star team while with the Atlanta Braves.

In retirement, Jordan remains active in the Atlanta community through his Brian Jordan Foundation.  He is also an analyst for Fox Sports South.
