Bucky Dent will always have a special place in baseball history. He will share some of his stories when he speaks at the Claremore Field of Dreams baseball banquet in Oklahoma
The event will be held on January 23rd at 7 p.m. at the Claremore Conference Center. This is 13th annual banquet that raises money for the Rogers State, Claremore High and the Claremore summer baseball programs.

Dent forever lept into New York Yankees lore when he was named Most Valuable Player of the 1978 World Series. He also hit an iconic home run against the Boston Red Sox that year to put the Yankees in the lead in a tiebreaker game to get into the playoffs.
Dent also won a World Series with in his first season in New York in 1977. Overall, he was a three-time All-Star, making two trips to the Midsummer Classic while in pinstripes.
After retiring from the big leagues in 1984, Dent had a series of managerial jobs in the Yankees organization and eventually served as manager of the big league club during parts of the 1989 and 1990 seasons. Later he would be on the coaching staff for the St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers and Cincinnati Reds.
