The American Express Travel Forum lured a football legend to speak at their annual event this year.  San Francisco 49ers icon Joe Montana was the speaker for the event's General Session.

The forum ran October 6-10 at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix.  It was held to expose attendees to to American Express Travel programs, benefits and leadership training. 

Montana was interviewed on stage and gave five leadership lessons.  They included develop a work ethic, promote trust, do, don't say, learn to lose and be yourself.

There are not many athletes in sports history who embodied the spirit of leadership and winning like Montana.  He went 4-0 in Super Bowls and was a three-time Super Bowl MVP. 

Montana played 16 seasons, 14 with the 49ers.  He was a two-time NFL MVP, eight-time Pro Bowler and was named a first-team All-Pro three times. 

Most importantly, Montana led his teams to 31 fourth quarter comebacks.  In 2000, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
