Four-Time World Series Champion Jack Morris Speaks at Babe Ruth World Series Kickoff

Young baseball enthusiasts got to hear from one of the all-time great pitchers at a kickoff event for the Babe Ruth World Series.  Jack Morris spoke last Friday at the Banquet of Champions.

The evening was held at Williston State College and served as a way to usher in the 13-15 Babe Ruth World Series.  Morris was able to speak to players from all ten teams that were participating.

He also talked a great deal about the intangibles that produce winning baseball.  Morris talked about the greatest takeaways from his baseball career being the relationships he made, not the championships he won.

There are certainly plenty of personal accolades that Morris can look back on.  He was a five-time All-Star who won 254 games.

Morris led all pitchers in the 1980's in wins, innings and starts.  He spent the entire decade and the first 14 years of his career as a frontline starter with the Detroit Tigers.

Morris won his first World Series with the Tigers in 1984 and would go on to win three more from 1991-94.  In 1991, he pitched a 10-inning shutout in Game 7 of the Fall Classic for the Minnesota Twins and took home World Series MVP honors.
