After spending his final three playing seasons there and the best years of his managerial career with the San Francisco Giants, Dusty Baker has a tremendous legacy built in the Bay Area. With plenty of admirers in the area, his appearance should be well-received at this year's Fresno Grizzlies Hot Stove Gala.
Baker will speak at the event that is scheduled for 6 p.m. on February 1st at the Fresno Convention Center. It serves as a fundraiser for the Grizzlies Community Fund.
Individual tickets are currently on sale for $50, but the price goes up to $60 on January 1st. VIP admission that includes a meet and greet with Baker is being offered at an early bird rate of $80.
Baker has a managerial record 1,863-1,636 and his wins total ranks 14th in baseball history. He most recently guided the Washington Nationals to back-to-back National League East Division titles in 2016 and 2017.
Baker was a three-time NL Manager of the Year with the Giants and led them to the 2002 World Series. He has also managed the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.
Baker had a 19-year playing career and was a two-time All-Star. He was the National League Championship Series Most Valuable Player in 1977 and helped them win the World Series in 1981.
