Lumos Networks is expanding their reach in the golf world. The Mid-Atlantic's leading fiber-based service provider has named PGA Champions Tour golfer Rocco Mediate their newest brand ambassador. 

Mediate will wear the Lumos logo during competition and appearances. The company has had PGA Tour professional Scott Piercy signed on as a brand ambassador since 2016. 

Lumos Networks operates in 26 different markets, including Mediate's hometown of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. They operate a network that boasts 11,028 fiber route miles. 

Mediate has long been a popular golfer and was a six-time winner on the PGA Tour. He is best remembered for battling Tiger Woods in a playoff at the 2008 U.S. Open. 

During his career, Mediate cracked through the top 20 in the World Golf Ranking. He originally turned professional after helping Florida Southern College win the NCAA Division II National Championship in 1985. 

Mediate has continued to have success since joining the Champions Tour in 2013. He won two tournaments that season and also captured the 2016 Senior PGA Championship.
