Golfing legend Annika Sorenstam had a big weekend in St. Augustine, Florida. She sponsored the American Junior Golf Association's Annika Invitational and had a special speaking engagement.
Sorenstam took part in the World Golf Hall of Fame Speaker's Series. The event took place at the Hall Museum at 2 p.m. on Saturday and it was included in museum admission.
Sorenstam participated in a question and answer session followed by an autograph signing. The first round of the tournament also started Saturday at the World Golf Village's Slammer & Squire course.
Sorenstam is considered one of the best female golfers of all-time. She won 90 international tournaments including 72 events on the LPGA Tour.
Sorenstam was the recipient of eight LPGA Tour Player of the Year awards. She won ten majors and is the LPGA Tour's all-time money leader.
In 2003, Sorenstam participated in the Bank of America Colonial tournament and became the first woman to compete in a PGA Tour event since 1945. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2003.
