There are not many if any more entertaining speakers from the world of sports than Basketball Hall of Famer Bill Walton.  Walton will bring his gift of words to the graduates of New England Tech.  

NEIT's commencement will be held May 1st at 11 a.m. at the Rhode Island Convention Center.  Over one thousand students will be conferred degrees at the ceremony.

Tickets are not needed to attend graduation.  It will last around two and a half hours with Walton's presentation certainly to be a highlight. 

Walton is certainly one of the greatest players in the history of college basketball.  As a main anchor of John Wooden's UCLA dynasty, he won three College Player of the Year awards and two NCAA Championships.  

Despite sufferring numerous injuries as a pro, Walton still had a great deal of success in the NBA.  He was a two-time All-Star, two-time NBA champion, and won the 1978 NBA MVP award while with the Portland Trail Blazers.  

Walton's notoreity has lived on with new generations of basketball fans as a popular broadcaster for networks like ESPN and NBC.  He recently chronicled much of his life with the memoir "Back From the Dead".
