Legendary Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks found the perfect opportunity to host his 15th Celebrity Golf Classic at the beginning of last week.  The events actually kicked off on Sunday, April 26th with a pairings party and blackjack tournament at Tampa's Hard Rock Cafe.  

Then on Monday, April 27th, stars gathered at Avila Golf & Country Club for the tournament.  The day started with an 8 a.m. breakfast followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start. 

Notable sports celebrities like Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston showed up to support.  Proceeds from the events went the youth programs that the Derrick Brooks Foundation supports. 

Brooks anchored the Tampa Bay defense that would ultimately become championship quality for 13 seasons.  He went to 11 Pro Bowls and was a nine-time All-Pro.

Behind one of the NFL's all-time great defenses led by Brooks, the Buccaneers won Super Bowl XXXVII.  The following season, he collected 117 tackles and five interceptions on the way to AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors. 

In 2014, Brooks was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  He was also recently selected to the College Football Hall of Fame and has his number retired by both Tampa Bay and Florida State.
