The Power Forward Speaker Series presented by First Commerce Credit Union is known for bringing top business leaders to Tallahassee, Florida. Last week, they brought in a man who has reached the pinnacle of another profession, Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly.
Kelly addressed the group last Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. on the campus of Florida State University at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. He was interviewed by Yahoo Finance editor-in-chief Andy Serwer.
Kelly was able to talk about his football success and the transition he made upon retirement to work on business initiatives and charitable causes. Tickets to attend the event were $50 for main level seating, $40 for a balcony seat and $10 for student admission.
For many Buffalo Bills fans, Kelly remains the face of the franchise. He spent all 11 seasons of his NFL career with the franchise and went to four consecutive Super Bowls from 1991-1994.
Kelly was a five-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro and threw for over 35,000 yards with the Bills. His #12 jersey is one of two retired by the team.
Off the football field, has founded several businesses. He has been revered for his charity work with Hayden's Hope, a non-profit established in his son's name to fight Krabbe disease.
