Hall of Fame Quarterback Kurt Warner Keynotes United Way of West Tennessee Event

The Unitas event is a special way to celebrate the United Way of West Tennessee's service each year. On Saturday, Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner served as speaker.

All festivities took place at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. Warner recapped his entire life story and shared how he went from a grocery store shelve stocker to the top of the football world.

In addition to Warner's presentation, attendees partook in live music and a four-course meal. Individual table tickets were $250.00 and those who were interested could purchase a balcony seat for $10.00.

Warner was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers in 1994, but had to go to the Arena Football League and NFL Europe before getting his first shot at the NFL level.

After an injury to starter Trent Green, Warner was thrown into the spotlight with the St. Louis Rams in 1999. He was named NFL MVP and led the Rams to victory in Super Bowl XXXIV.

Warner helped lead the Rams back to the Super Bowl in 2001 and won his second MVP award. He also helped the Arizona Cardinals reach the Super Bowl later in his career.
