Prior to Air Force and California waging their showdown in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, both teams got to hear from a very special speaker.  Pro Football Hall of Famer Charles Haley entertained the capacity crowd at the Fort Worth Omni Hotel for the bowl's Kickoff Luncheon this Monday.

Haley felt right at home near where he dominated during his career with the Dallas Cowboys.  He talked about being goal oriented and committed to teamwork to overcome obstacles.

In addition to the teams attending, the luncheon, which ran from 12-1:30 p.m.  was open to the public.  Tickets were available for $50 and several people helped pack the lunch by purchasing from will call the day of the event.

Haley is one of the most recent members of the Hall of Fame, having been inducted with the 2015 class.  It was a long overdue recognition for a player who is one of the greatest winners in the history of sports.

During time spent with the Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers dynastic franchises, Haley won five Super Bowls.  He also finished his career with over 100 sacks.

The five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro was named NFC Defensive Player of the Year twice by UPI.  In addition to the most recent Hall of Fame honor, Haley is also a College Football Hall of Famer, Virginia Sports Hall of Famer, and member of the Cowboys Ring of Honor.
