As another college football season winds to a close, former Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard still remains one of the most popular personalities in the sport. He will wrap up the year at one of the top Touchdown Clubs in the country.
Howard is the guest speaker at the Little Rock Touchdown Club Awards Banquet on January 10. He will certainly share some thoughts on the season and directly address the student-athletes being recognized.
Athletes from high schools across Arkansas will be honored for their achievements. The event is being held at the regular meeting spot, the Embassy Suites on Chenal Parkway, and tickets are $50.
Many attendees will recognize Howard from his gig as an analyst on ESPN's wildly successful College Gameday show. He has been part of the show since 2005, but his background on the field is what really makes him a college football legend.
Howard played at the University of Michigan, where he won the 1991 Heisman Trophy and set or tied five NCAA and 12 school records. During his Heisman campaign, he led the Big Ten in scoring.
Howard is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and has his #21 jersey retired by the Wolverines. He also had an 11-year NFL career and was MVP of Super Bowl XXXI.
