Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky has been recently crisscrossing Canada promoting his new book, "99: Stories of the Game". On Thursday, he will be stateside in New York City for a signing at the NHL Powered by Reebok store.
The event will take place from 12:00-1:30 p.m. The book serves as a memoir for Gretzky and takes fans inside his inconic career to give a one-of-a-kind look at the things that defined "The Great One".
Each of the first 99 people who buy the book from the story will be guaranteed an autograph. There will be no other memorabilia signed at the appearance.
Gretzky's presence still looms large over the sport he dominated while on the ice. Today, he still holds 60 NHL records, including registering the most goals and assists in league history.
Gretzky notched four seasons of over 200 points and recorded at least 100 points 16 times across a 20-year career. Early on, he won four Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers.
Gretzky was a nine-time Hart Trophy winner as league MVP. Upon retirement, he was immediately inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and has his #99 jersey retired across the NHL.
