People are used to hearing about the latest technological advances at the Consumer Electronics Show, but the event staged annually in Las Vegas added some flare from the sports world this year. With the Raiders set to move to the city in two years, a host of the team's legends, including Howie Long hosted a special event last week.
Long served as master of ceremonies at a party to promote their new stadium that was hosted at the Delano Hotel's Skyfall Lounge. The event was geared towards enticing potential sponsors, season ticket holders and luxury suite buyers.
Long shared his excitement for the Raiders move to Vegas. He also moderated a conversation between the franchise's owner, Mark Davis, and Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones.
As one of the greatest defensive players in NFL history and a career-long Raider, Long certainly added credibility to the proceedings. During his 13 seasons, he was an eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro.
Long was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1985. He also helped Los Angeles capture Super Bowl XVIII.
Long is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and he was voted to the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team. Since retiring in 1993, he has been a part of Fox Sports' coverage of the league.
