The Pro Football Hall of Fame will officially welcome eight new members to Canton, Ohio this summer. One of the headline inductees is former wide receiver Randy Moss.
When each new Hall of Famer was notified of their selection during Super Bowl week, Moss was perhaps the player most visibly moved. The video that featured him hugging Hall of Fame President David Baker quickly went viral.
Moss will certainly give a stirring speech when his bronze bust is unveiled on August 4th. He also recently revealed that his son, Thaddeus, will be his presenter at the induction, making the moment even more special.
Moss has already been speaking about the tremendous honor at several functions. He remains a high-profile figure even in retirement and has gained great acclaim for his broadcasting work with ESPN.
Over a 14-year career, Moss collected more than 15,000 receiving yards and had 156 receiving touchdowns. He was a six-time Pro Bowler and four-time first-team All-Pro.
Moss set a rookie record with 17 touchdown receptions in 1998 and established the overall single-season record for touchdown grabs with 23 in 2007. He spent the early part of his career with the Minnesota Vikings and is a member of the team's Ring of Honor.
Moss set his touchdown record for the New England Patriots the year they finished the regular season with a perfect 16-0 record. After retiring following the 2012 season, he got started in broadcasting with Fox Sports before joining ESPN in 2016.
