Inspirational Former Football Player Vince Papale Holds Philadelphia Book Signing

The story of Vince Papale is part of the fabric of Philadelphia. Last weekend, Papale made an appearance in nearby Willow Grove for a book signing.

He was signing copies of his new book, "The Last Laugh - Vision to Victory." The book was co-written by former Philadelphia Eagles player Dennis Franks.

The Saturday event took place from 6-9 p.m. at the Ashley Home Store. Radio station 101.1 More FM served as a sponsor for the signing and they entertained the crowd with games and prizes.

Papale never played college football, but somehow found his way to the Eagles roster in 1976. He debuted for the team at age 30, making him the oldest rookie in NFL history to not play college football.

Papale played in Philadelphia for three seasons and was the team's special teams captain in 1978. He had previously had a successful run in the World Football League with the Philadelphia Bell.

Following his playing career, Papale went on to become a successful local businessman. He was the inspiration for the 2006 film, Invincible
