Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dede Westbrook has been busy acclimating to life in the NFL, but he made an appearance to reconnect with fans from his college days this weekend. The University of Oklahoma product held an autograph signing on Saturday at Billy Sims BBQ in the Farm Shopping Center in Tulsa.
Westbrook made the rounds through the restaurant looking at Sooners memorabilia. He talked about his journey to the NFL and what it is like playing for the Jaguars.
Westbrook also talked about his college coach, Bob Stoops, stepping away from the game. He was joined by several other former Oklahoma players at the signing.
Jacksonville selected Westbrook in the fourth round of the NFL Draft this spring. That came on the heels of his standout 2016 season, where he caught 80 passes for 1,524 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Westbrook was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and won the Biletnikoff Award. He was a first-team All-Big 12 pick, a consensus All-American and the Big 12 Player of the Year.
Westbrook came to Oklahoma in 2015, totaling 743 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He began his college career at Blinn College.
