Kansas City Royals General Manager Dayton Moore Speaks at Area Prison

On Thanksgiving week, Kansas City Royals general manager Dayton Moore took time to give back. He visited a local prison on Monday on behalf of his foundation, C You in the Major Leagues.

There were around 400 inmates at Lansing State Prison that listened to Moore speak. They were also able to meet with him one on one and ask questions.

Many wanted to hear tips from Moore about how they could be successful when they were released. There were also many knowledgeable Royals fans and everyone got an autographed copy of his book, "More Than A Season."

Moore has been the general manager and Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations for the Royals since 2006. From 2009-2015, Kansas City experienced an uptick in wins each season.

That 2015 campaign was truly special however. The Royals won an American League-best 95 games, their first AL Central division championship and the franchise's first World Series in 30 years.

For his efforts, Moore was named Best Executive at the 2015 Esurance MLB Awards. He originally learned tips that would turn Kansas City into a winner during his 13-year run in the front office of the Atlanta Braves.
