Playing for one of sport's marquee franchises can always give an athlete the leg up on the endorsement trail.  This is certainly the case for second-year Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle.

Randle has signed an endorsement deal with Mountain Dew.  He will pose in promotional materials and make appearance for the beverage giant.

Prior to the start of the season, Randle had a photeshoot with the company.  He says that the Mountain Dew brand is fun, a trend-setter and about the experience which is why he has been drawn to the soda.  

Randle is currently averaging 10.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while starting about half of the Lakers contests.  His rookie season was derailed when he suffered a fractured right tibia in Los Angeles opening game last year. 

In his only season of college basketball, Randle quickly emerged as a national star.  He was a semifinalist for the Naismith College Player of the Year award while leading Kentucky to the NCAA title game. 

Randle also was named SEC Rookie of the Year, first-team All-SEC, and a third-team All-American.  He was considered the second best player in his class by Rivals.com coming out of Prestonwood Christian Academy.
