This past week, Los Angeles Kings legend Luc Robitaille was the keynote speaker for the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles' 59th Annual Good Friday Breakfast. It was held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
Robitaille talked to community leaders and elected officials from across the region. He spoke about the importance of teamwork and character for developing players and staff.
Robitaille learned how to swim growing up at the YMCA in Montreal. The Kings have partnered with the YMCA and are donating $1 million to the chapter over the last five years.
Robitaille spent 14 of his 19 NHL seasons over three different stints with the Kings. He retired in 2006 as the all-time leading scorer among left wingers in league history.
On eight occasions, Robitaille was named to the NHL All-Star team. In January, he was named to a list of the NHL's 100 Greatest Players.
Robitaille was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009. He is currently the Kings president and has won two Stanley Cups in that capacity.
